International Workshop on ‘Dynamic Systems and Applications’ held at CUET

An international workshop titled "Dynamic Systems and Applications" was held on Sunday, April 21, under the initiative of the Department of Mathematics of Chittagong University of Engineering and Technology (CUET). Three research papers were presented in the technical session of the workshop.

The main speaker in the workshop was the professor of mathematics of Jadavpur University of India, Dr. Preeti Kumar Roy; Professor of Mathematics Discipline of Khulna University Dr. Haider Ali Biswas and Professor of Mathematics Department of Jahangirnagar University Dr. Muhammad Humayun Kabir.

In the morning, the workshop held in the conference room of the Department of Civil Engineering was presided over by the Vice-Chancellor of CUET Dr. Mohammad Rafiqul Alam.

Pro Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Jamal Uddin Ahmed; Dean of the Faculty of Science and Technology Dr. A.H. Rashedul Hossain and Professor of Mathematics at Jadavpur University of India Dr. Preeti Kumar Roy and Dr. Deepak Kumar Kesh were present as special guests. The program was presided over by Professor Dr. Moshammat Tahmina Akhter, Head of Department of Mathematics.

Assistant Professor of Mathematics Mr. Salim Hossain moderated the workshop while Dr. Ujjal Kumar Dev, Moderator of the CUET Math Club delivered a welcome speech on the occasion.

While speaking as the chief guest, Professor Dr. Mohammad Rafiqul Alam said, “Everything in the universe is in motion. Everything is changing every moment with time. In today's world nature and technology are changing very fast. If we cannot adapt to this change, we will fall behind. In order to transform into a smart Bangladesh, it is necessary to know the mathematical explanation of these. I believe that the participants will be able to gain practical knowledge of these through today's workshop.”
